Ill. Michael D. Smith 33º, Sovereign Grand Inspector General
Illustrious Brother Mike became a Scottish Rite Mason in 1982. He has served as Venerable Master of the Piedmont Lodge of Perfection, Wise Master of the Spartanburg Chapter of Rose Croix, and has also served as Class Director, Staging and Properties Director and Director of Work. Mike was invested with the rank and decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in 1989 and was coronated 33° Inspector General Honorary in 1999. In 2003, he was elected as the Sovereign Grand Inspector General in South Carolina by the Supreme Council in Washington, DC, and in 2019 he was elected to serve the the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction as Lieutenant Grand Commander. Mike is a Past Master of Landrum № 278 and Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 20th Masonic District. In 2017, Mike was elected to serve as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina. |
Ill. Douglas R. Knauer 33º, Personal Representative
Illustrious Brother Doug became a Scottish Rite Mason in 1981. He has served as Venerable Master of Piedmont Lodge of Perfection, Wise Master of Spartanburg Chapter of Rose Croix, Commander of the Greenville Council of Knights Kadosh, and is currently serving as the Personal Representative for the Valley of Spartanburg. He has been the degree master for the 9th & 10th degrees for over 25 years. In 2003 he received the rank and decoration of Knight Commander Court of Honour, and in 2009 he was coronated 33º Inspector General Honorary. Doug is a Past Master of Irving Southworth № 350, and served the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina as Grand Pursuivant in 2009. He has served as Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of South Carolina from 2013 to 2014. Doug is currently the Right Venerable Grand Director of Ceremonies of the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees, USA, and is also a member of The Royal Order of Scotland. |
